Event Description

A weekend celebration of Latino culture and community featuring concerts, celebrity appearances, family activities, workshops and more, Festival People en Español is an annual event relocating from New York City to San Antonio and will take place Sept. 1 and 2. The Alamodome will showcase evening concerts, while The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center will host free daytime activities including question-and-answer sessions with celebrities, discussions on everything from fashion to wellness, and on-site experiences with their favorite brands. There will even be a special tribute to Selena, the late singer known as “the Queen of Tejano music.” Festival’s concerts feature Daddy Yankee on Saturday, Sept. 1 and five-time GRAMMY winner Luis Miguel on Sunday, Sept. 2. Additional live concert performances at the two-day Festival People en Español include Prince Royce, Tito “El Bambino,” Larry Hernandez, 3Ball MTY, and Banda Los Recoditos. The diverse musical acts represent the variety of popular Hispanic music including Latin Pop, Reggaeton, regional Mexican and Tribal Guarachero, club music inspired by regional folk songs, and house music from Northern Mexico. Everyone is welcome to join Festival People en Espanol at The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center for free, open to the public day-time activities including celebrity appearances, musical performances and panel discussions. From 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on September 1 & 2, Festival will offer visitors the opportunity to catch Q&A sessions with celebrities, hear tips from leading industry experts on topics ranging from fashion to wellness, and interact with favorite brands through special on-site consumer experiences. There will also be a special tribute to Selena, the late singer known as, “the Queen of Tejano music,” with a special performance by AB Quintanilla & Kumbia Kings/AllStarz.
