Event Description:
Y.E.L.L. invites many students from across the city to the annual Youth Summit so they can contribute valuable insights and ideas while they learn from their peers. Students attending the Summit will focus on the future of San Antonio and the role that both youth and policy makers should have to ensure success today and in the future. As a part of this, students will consider the many economic, social, and political factors that contribute to some of the issues in our city, such as the high school dropout rate, laws effecting students, social media, teen pregnancy & more. The Summit will offer young adults from across the state the opportunity to discuss the important issues in their communities with their peers and with their elected community leaders. Students will take an in-depth look at these issues and will explore solutions through a series of small group and panel sessions throughout the entire day. Additionally, students attending the Summit will have the opportunity to sharpen their school and job skills as they attend workshops and training sessions on topics ranging from applying to college to organizing a community service project.

Throughout day, students will enjoy a "Future Fair" featuring booths for colleges, companies, camps, volunteer opportunities, and city departments that serve youth. The Youth Summit will not only be a great opportunity for high school students from across the state to discuss and learn about the issues that deserve attention in San Antonio, but it will also give our elected leaders a chance to hear directly from the youth of the city on solutions and courses of action. As such, it is very important to us that students from all high schools have an opportunity to attend. There will be no cost to the school or student for the event.

Company Overview
Y.E.L.L. (Youth Engaging in Leadership & Learning), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization was organized to provide a method for our youth to be able to have a voice in our community and provide them with the opportunity to become knowledgeable and active decision makers in their schools and community while preparing them to be San Antonio's future workforce and leaders.

The Annual Youth Summit (YS) is an event that is organized by Y.E.L.L. YS empowers the youth to become the VOICE for a better tomorrow. We bring the community together to enlighten our youth by challenging their minds and providing them the necessary tools to become successful leaders.
