Cara C. Tackett, P.E., LEED AP, BD+C, Promoted to Senior Vice President of Pape-Dawson Engineers

The Officers of Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc., are pleased to announce the promotion of Cara C. Tackett, P.E., LEED AP, BD+C, to Senior VicePresident. Cara is responsible for technical oversight of the firm’s land development and environmental services, and will continue to take a strong leadership role in the promotion and management of these services.

Cara joined Pape-Dawson Engineers in June 1999 and has over 18 years of civil and environmental engineering experience. She is responsible for environmental and civil engineering design of schools and universities, public parks, athletic facilities, roadways, and residential/commercial land development projects. Cara is involved in master planning and project management, designing water and sewer systems, utility systems, streets, drainage, grading improvements, field surveys, subdivision plats, obtaining city and state approvals for construction plans, and coordinating project construction.

During her career at Pape-Dawson, Cara has led many high-profile land development projects. Cara’s technical skills and leadership have contributed to the success of many projects throughout South and Central Texas, including the JW Marriot Resort Hotel and Spa, TPC San Antonio, Cibolo Canyons master-planned community, expansions at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and the University of Texas at San Antonio Main Campus and Park West Athletic facilities.

Cara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Texas and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. Cara is a graduate of Leadership San Antonio and is on the executive committee of the Real Estate Council of San Antonio. She is also on the executive committee of the Professional Engineers in Private Practice Bexar Chapter and is the Chair of the Development Process Task Force in San Antonio. She is a member of the Bexar County Chapter of Texas Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers, Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, and the Council of Education Facility
Planners International.
