The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio is expanding its Pediatric Network in Northwest San Antonio, providing more access to care for children and families. Northwest Pediatrics is now part of the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Physician Group.
"For 32 years, Northwest Pediatrics has cared for children throughout San Antonio and the surrounding area,” said Tanya Rackley, MD, Northwest Pediatrics. “It seems only fitting that we partner with an integrated health care system that puts our children first.”
The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio first announced the creation of the Physician Group in May of this year with Tejas Pediatrics, Children First Pediatrics, and Pediatrician Sky Izaddoost leading the charge to develop the network.
“The model we have created implements an integrated medical record system, accessible by all physicians in the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio network,” said Elias J. Neujahr, President of Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. “That network enables pediatricians and pediatric specialists caring for a child to communicate, with real-time updates on the child’s health.”
“Access to real-time health information can prove to be invaluable when caring for a child,” said Dr. Mark Gilger, Pediatrician-in-Chief at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio and vice chair of the department of pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine. “The addition of Northwest Pediatrics will allow parents yet another access point for world-class pediatric care.”
The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Physician Group – Northwest Pediatrics, consists of six physicians that will support the Hospital’s open staff model and help bridge the gap in pediatric health care.
“This partnership will ensure we can continue to provide the best possible medical care for our patients and their families, said Dr. Rackley. “It's a win-win situation for everybody."
