Free Commercial Toilet Program Ending

The SAWS’ program dates back to 1998 when high-flow toilets were still prevalent in San Antonio businesses. Through the years, the program has saved the city more than 2 billion gallons of water per year. Now that all toilets being sold in Texas are high efficiency, SAWS has opted to redirect the program’s funds to focus on conserving water in customers’ outdoor landscapes.

Commercial businesses still have time to replace their high-flow toilets. Applications must be postmarked by Nov. 1, 2014.

In order to be eligible for the program:
• You must be a SAWS commercial water customer.
• Your building must have been constructed before 1992.
• Your building must not have already received free toilets or toilet rebates. 
• Your business must own the building, or have written consent from the landlord.
• You must plan to install the toilets received at the address for which you are submitting the application.
