Ambassador Michael Moussa-Adamo of Gabon, Africa Visits Brooks City Base

Brooks City Base was honored to host Michael Moussa-Adamo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Gabonese Republic to the United States of America, the Republic of Mexico and the Republic of Haiti, on his first visit to San Antonio.

The Ambassador came to Brooks to learn more about the Brooks City Base Regional Center and direct investment opportunities on the campus. He met previously with Brooks City Base EB-5 Program Director Sha-Rone Reyes in July in Washington, D.C.

Ambassador Moussa-Adamo is involved in the energy industry in Texas and Mexico and is interested in opportunities at Brooks City Base because of the close proximity to the Eagle Ford Shale Play.

During the visit on October 21, 2014, Brooks City Base Board Member Margaret Agnalia, President and CEO Leo Gomez, and other leadership staff provided a briefing on the history and future plans for the 1,200-acre campus. The briefing was followed by a tour of some of the businesses that offer specialized services and have a unique work force.

Brooks leadership expects to meet with Ambassador Moussa-Adamo again in the future. Brooks will continue talks about strengthening the relationship with Gabon in an attempt to leverage the existing synergies in the energy sector , which have already garnered interest from African countries.

Official Biography of Ambassador Michael Moussa-Adamo

His Excellency Michael Moussa-Adamo was appointed by the President of Gabon, His Excellency Ali Bongo Ondimba and presented his credentials as the new Ambassador of the Gabonese Republic to United States President Barack Obama on September 9, 2011. Ambassador Moussa-Adamo succeeded His Excellency Carlos Victor Boungou, who was appointed as Gabon’s envoy to the Republic of Korea in Seoul. In the months prior to Ambassador Moussa-Adamo's appointment, he was a leader in Gabon participating in high-level discussions surrounding headline topics in global affairs and working with the President of Gabon, His Excellency Ali Bongo Ondimba to ensure hat Gabon had a seat on the United Nations Security Council. Ambassador Moussa-Adamo's dedication to public service is evident following a two-decade career, including five years as a Congressman (Deputy) in the Gabonese National Assembly Parliament, where he served as Spokesman for the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense. He has also served as Special Advisor to the President of Gabon; Chief of Staff to the Minister of National Defense; Diplomatic Counselor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Head of the Department of Tourism, Arts, Culture, and Sports; and, Chief of the Communication and Information Technology Department in the Office of the President. Over the course of 10 years, the Ambassador has lived and worked throughout the United States. In 1989, he completed his Master’s Degree in International Relations and Communications at Boston University and a Bachelors of Arts Degree. In addition to Boston, Massachusetts, Ambassador Mousaa-Adamo has lived in Phoenix, Arizona and currently resides in Washington, D.C. He has dedicated a significant amount of time to his professional work with the World Wildlife Fund at its Washington, DC headquarters. At Boston University, he was a Teaching Assistant in the African Studies Center and a Research Assistant studying the economies of the Pacific Rim countries at the Center for International Relations and Communication. Ambassador Moussa-Adamo is married and the father of six children, including three attending colleges in the United States. He is an avid reader and academic, maintaining a personal library of books on foreign affairs and cultures around the world.
