(SAN ANTONIO, TX) -- Our Community Inc., LLC (OCI Group) and ThinkVoting launch The Voting App™, the first San Antonio Get Out The Vote (GOTV) mobile application for the 2015 Municipal Elections. The Voting App™ is a simple and intuitive bilingual (English/Spanish) mobile application harnessing the power of Big Data to empower voters by putting the information they need right in the palm of their hand.
In partnership with the League of Women Voters of the San Antonio Area and other local civic and community organizations, a press conference will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 1:00 pm on the steps of City Hall (100 Military Plaza, SA, TX 78205).
These partnerships mark the creation of a broad coalition of people and organizations working together to get a record number of citizens to the polls for this upcoming election. "To vote is the right and the responsibility that defines our citizenship and our democracy. Local elections impact our every-day lives. Be among those who vote on Election Day and be the one that makes the difference." says Phyllis Ingram, President of the League of Women Voters of the San Antonio Area. We encourage more organizations and people to join us in the effort to Get Out The Vote.
The Voting App™ consolidates scattered and fragmented information into a single place, and gives every voter the "who, what, when, where, why and how" for any election, making participation easier and more effective than ever before. Increasing access to information and awareness around our city’s leadership will increase voter turnout and engagement in electing our leaders.
Voters receive the benefit of having a credible source to access all the information they need to make an informed voting decision and get to the polls, while candidates have a free platform to present their campaign messaging and connect with potential voters, all in one central location.
"In the last 25 years, voter turnout in cities across the US has declined by more than 20%. Through our relationship with OCI Group, we will make San Antonio the model for the rest of the United States by increasing voter turnout and knowledgeable voters. This launch is in anticipation of the 2016 Presidential Elections and San Antonio will be at the forefront of moving the needle for communities all over the United States. We are excited to see how our relationship will impact lives throughout our community moving forward." says Joseph Santori, President & Co-Founder of ThinkVoting.
ThinkVoting will be attending various community events and candidate forums throughout the next month to share information about The Voting App before Election Day. More details will be available through social media. #TheVotingApp #MobilizeSA
Early voting begins Monday, April 27 and ends Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Election Day is Saturday, May 9, 2015.
