San Antonio Scorpions Schedule for May 11 - 17 |
|
The defending North American Soccer League (NASL) Champion San Antonio Scorpions (1-1-3) beat the Carolina RailHawks 1-0 at Toyota Field this past Saturday for their first victory of the season. The Scorpions controlled the game from start to finish and finally found their deserved breakthrough in the 78' when Billy Forbes set up Bright Dike for his first goal since joining SASFC.
Potential Storylines:
-
The assist on Dike's goal was Forbes' first of 2015. Last year as a rookie, Forbes led the NASL in assists with seven.
-
Dating back to last season and including the playoffs, the Scorpions have scored in nine straight matches. The team record for consecutive games without being shutout is 13 set in 2012.
-
Defensively, San Antonio recorded their first shutout since the 2014 regular season finale against the New York Cosmos. That was also the last full match center back Adrian Cann played in as he tore his patella tendon in the '32 of the following week's semi-final match.
