Freese and Nichols, Inc. Appoints Veteran Construction Manager to San Antonio Office

Freese and Nichols, Inc. has hired Arnold Ramirez, P.E. as a senior construction manager based in the San Antonio office, specializing in transportation and municipal engineering, construction management, and inspection in the Central and South Texas regions.

Ramirez brings more than 35 years of experience in the design, review, management, maintenance and construction of highway, street and bridge projects involving freeway, urban and rural systems. Ramirez most recently served as the Area Engineer for the Bexar Metro Area Office in San Antonio for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Prior to that, he was a Senior Project Engineer in the Capital Improvements Management Services department of the City of San Antonio. He also worked as a project manager with a private consulting engineering firm, managing planning, design, and cost estimates for numerous highway projects.

Ramirez has served in a number of area, traffic, design and construction engineer positions for TxDOT, working on everything from farm-to-market rural roads to complicated highways and expressways over his 27 years with the state transportation agency.

“Arnold’s extensive background in transportation planning and construction oversight makes him a tremendous addition to our firm,” said Alan Greer, Transportation Practice Leader of Freese and Nichols. “His combination of private- and public-sector experience enhances our already-strong transportation team, particularly in South and Central Texas where we are seeing continued growth in infrastructure investment and development.”

Ramirez earned a bachelor’s of science degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University and is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas.
