SAN ANTONIO, TX.  Methodist Healthcare System has named Robert Lenza to the position of Chief Executive Officer for Methodist Children’s Hospital and Women’s Services.  In his new role, Lenza will oversee the day-to-day operations of the largest children’s medical facility in South Texas and one of the most progressive women’s programs in San Antonio.

Lenza, who has over 22 years health care experience, will also be overseeing Methodist Children’s Hospital’s major expansion project, taking the current facility from 195 beds to a total of 247 beds at completion.

Lenza joins Methodist Children’s Hospital and Women’s Services from an executive leadership role at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma, Washington where he was responsible for all strategic and operational functions of the hospital and outpatient pediatric network.   Lenza also led the strategic growth and program development in the MultiCare Health System, in Tacoma, overseeing women’s and children’s services for three family birth centers, a Level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU); two Level II NICUs, and the children’s’ hospital.
While at MultiCare Health System, Lenza was responsible for strategic growth of their outpatient clinics for both women and children focusing on the growth of the pediatric network across nine counties.  Lenza is most proud of achieving Level IV NICU certification, growing pediatric practice locations from three to seven multi-specialty outreach locations and the growth of its maternal fetal medicine program, which grew from just two physicians to seven physicians with two advanced practice registered nurse practitioners (ARNPs) when he left this position.
Lenza began his health care leadership career as an active duty Medical Service Corps officer in the U.S. Army and served his country for 12 years.   Lenza holds a master of healthcare administration degree from Baylor University, and a bachelor of science degree in accounting from City University of New York – College of Staten Island.  He is married to wife, Erin, and has two children, Taylor and Ryan.
