Synergy Federal Credit Union Wins Credit Union of the Year

San Antonio, TX  — Synergy Federal Credit Union, headquartered in San Antonio, TX, was chosen as Credit Union of the Year by the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU). Synergy FCU and other winners in NAFCU’s 2016 Annual Awards Competition will be honored during NAFCU’s 49th Annual Conference and Solutions Expo in Nashville, Tennessee June 14-17, 2016.

“Synergy Federal Credit Union celebrated its 35th anniversary during 2015 and had its best financial year to date. Asset and membership growth remain steady and strong.” said Sean Murphy, President/CEO “This award is a testament to the outstanding service of our wonderful employees, long-term dedication from our Board of Directors, and continued support from our loyal membership who choose to use the quality financial products we offer.”  

This year’s competition honored the CEO of the Year, Federal Credit Union of the Year, Professional of the Year and Volunteer of the Year in each of two asset-size categories: $250 million or less, and more than $250 million. Synergy FCU was a winner among credit unions with $250 million or less in assets.

Annual Awards Competition winners will be celebrated during the conference’s general session and breakfast on June 16 and profiled in an upcoming issue of The Federal Credit Union magazine.

Synergy Federal Credit Union was established in 1980 and now serves employees and family members of Valero Energy, NuStar Energy, CST Brands, Tesoro Energy and Pearson. Synergy FCU is a member of NAFCU.

The National Association of Federal Credit Unions is the only national organization that focuses exclusively on federal issues affecting credit unions, representing its members before the federal government and the public.
