SAN ANTONIO, May 25, 2016 – Each summer, Hotel Valencia Riverwalk embarks on a community initiative to connect hotel guests with deserving nonprofit organizations in San Antonio. Beginning June 1, Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio, will be asking travelers to “Give Us the Shirt off Your Back.”
The campaign, which will run June 1 through August 31, will provide professional apparel and monetary donations to Dress for Success San Antonio and Career Gear. These acclaimed nonprofits share a mutual goal to empower low-income individuals to enter or return to the work force. They provide gently used professional suiting and accessories for interviews, as well as a host of career guidance services.
“Each summer our hotel team eagerly looks forward to engaging with both our guests and our community in a truly impactful way,” said Stacy Seaborn, Director of Sales & Marketing for Hotel Valencia San Antonio. “We feel tremendous empathy for those who are trying to get back on their feet and we hope our guests can help by donating professional attire to help them succeed.”
Hotel Valencia Riverwalk will be accepting women’s suits, business-appropriate apparel, shoes and accessories, including handbags and portfolios for Dress for Success. For Career Gear, men’s items such as suits, solid color blazers and sport coats, belts, briefcases, watches, cufflinks, overcoats and dress pants, shirts and shoes will be welcomed. All donated clothing with be laundered and dry cleaned as necessary by the hotel prior to drop off. Guests may also make a monetary donation to either organization.
