Founder, Shane Wilson is very excited about bringing Fishing’s Future to San Antonio. “This is a chance for kids and parents to experience something new and exciting. Having a Kids Fish Camp at Woodlawn Lake Park will expose a whole new group of children and their families to the joys of fishing”.
Fishing’s Future combines the fishing experience with outdoor education at what are called “Kids Fish Camps”. Camps include; learning different fishing techniques, teaching the “Leave No Trace” philosophy and addressing water and outdoor safety practices. The overall goal of Fishing’s Future is to reconnect kids to nature and strengthen family bonds. This is achieved by including parents in “Kids Fish Camps” events. All Fishing’s Future events are FREE to the public but those interested must
pre register on-line at www.fishingsfuture.com
Fishing’s Future has been recognized by the Texas State Senate for their “… commitment to creating an atmosphere of family bonding and environmental stewardship through the sport of fishing …”.
The June 26th event at Woodlawn lake Park is the first at this location and organizers are confident that it will become an annual event for the children and their families in the surrounding areas.
