Brigadier General Theresa C. Carter Assumes Command of Joint Base San Antonio |

The Greater Chamber welcomes and congratulates Brigadier General Theresa C. Carter on her new assignment as the Commander of the 502nd Air Base Wing at Ft. Sam Houston. The 502nd Air Base Wing (Joint Base San Antonio) supports a multiple base population of 80,000 civilian and military personnel and a student population of more than 150,000 annually. Additionally, Joint Base San Antonio works with an annual budget of over $700M. General Carter comes to San Antonio from her assignment as Director of Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters Air Mobility Command at Scott AFB in Illinois.
General Carter assumed command from Brigadier General Len Patrick on Jul. 18. Patrick leaves the Alamo City to assume command of the 2nd Air Force in Biloxi, MS. The Chamber would like to thank General Patrick for the outstanding job he has done in organizing the largest joint base operation in the country and successfully integrating multiple services into the 502nd Air Base Wing.
