Chamber Announces 2012 Leadership Team

At the Annual Gala on December 8, 2012 Chairman Jim Greenwood, Vice President for Governmental Affairs at Valero Energy, introduced the 2012 leadership team that will lead the efforts of The Chamber in the coming year.

The 2012 Executive Committee will include

Chair-elect Arthur Coulombe, General Manager of the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa;

2011 Chairman Sam Dawson, CEO of Pape-Dawson Engineers;

Vice Chair Jamie Smith, Jr., Managing Director of Cox Smith;

Vice Chair Doyle Beneby, CEO of CPS Energy;

Vice Chair Luis Patino, Senior Vice President of Univision;

Vice Chair Trish DeBerry, President/Partner of Guerra DeBerry Coody; and

Finance Committee Chair Shelley Morkovsky, Senior Associate at King & Sommer.

2012 Economic Development will be led by:

Council Chairman David McGee, President/CEO of AmegyBank- San Antonio;

Aerospace Committee Chairman Thomas Moore, Senior Research Engineer at Southwest Research Institute;

Health Care & Bioscience Committee Chairman Patrick Carrier, President and CEO of Christus Santa Rosa Health System;

Information Technology Committee Chairman John Vann, Vice President Infrastructure Operations and Support at Valero Energy;

Military Affairs Committee Chairman Don Taylor, President of TEAM Integrated Engineering, Inc.; and

Travis Tullos, Director-Special Projects at Texas Perspectives will lead the Economic Analysis Panel.

The 2012 Education and Workforce Development Council will be led by:

Council Chairman David Crouch, Vice President of Administration at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas.

The Membership and Marketing Council for 2012 will be led by:

Council Chairman Tom Netting, General Manager of the Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Regency Hotels; and

Retention Committee Chairman Pedro Mercado, Director of Sales for Execupay.

2012 Public Affairs Council will be lead by:

Council Chairman John Carlson, Senior Vice President, Texas District Manager of Sundt Construction;

Energy & Sustainability Committee Chairman Diana Liebmann, Partner at Haynes and Boone;

Legislative Committee Chairman Julie Klumpyan, Director Government Affairs at Valero Energy Corporation;

Transportation Committee Chairman Howard Hicks, Vice President of Marketing for Holt Cat;

Water Committee Chairman Mari Garza-Bird, Vice President of CDM.

Leading the special programming and event-related committees for 2012 are:

Celebrate America’s Military Committee Chairman Tom Rogers, Senior Manager of San Antonio Defense Accounts for Deloitte Consulting;

Leadership San Antonio Co-Chair Anamaria Suescun-Fast, Director of Public Relations for Guerra DeBerry Coody;

SA to DC Chair Blakely Fernandez, Managing Partner at Tuggey Fernandez; and

Women’s Opportunity Week Committee Chairman Sonya Medina Williams, Director of Community and External Affairs for Silver Eagle Distributors.
