CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - New Braunfels embarks on major makeover |
|
In another demonstration of its commitment to the community, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System has announced a $4.3 million makeover and renovation for its New Braunfels hospital. The highlight of the makeover spotlights the conversion to private patient rooms. “We’re excited to start this makeover and enhance our hospital with beautiful Texas Hill Country charm and modern finishes,” said Jim Wesson, FACHE, vice president and administrator, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels. “With patient and family convenience in mind, this hospital has proudly served Comal County and beyond for more than 60 years, continually introducing services to this community not previously available.” In addition to the privatization room initiative, the hospital makeover will include updates to common areas, including the main lobby; the Emergency Department; and nurses’ stations. “This makeover is intended to make the hospital feel more cozy and home-like, which we hope will ultimately aid in the healing process,” Wesson said. “After the renovation is complete, patients will enjoy a greater level of privacy with their family and other visitors.” The Emergency Department will be the first area to undergo renovation. During this phase of construction, the hospital anticipates a reduction in the number of beds in that department, and encourages patients to visit CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Emergency Center – Creekside, the freestanding, full-service emergency room, during this process. Last summer, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels completed a renovation and expansion of its Birthing Center, resulting in private rooms and upgraded facilities for parents and newborns in that area of the hospital. Over the past five years, the New Braunfels hospital has worked to bring new services not previously available in this community, including a new Cardiovascular Center, expanded capacity in the Intensive Care Unit, wound care and hyperbaric services, and the freestanding emergency center that opened at Creekside in January 2013. “This hospital makeover is another example of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa’s continued commitment to community growth and expanding access to care to those we are privileged to serve in New Braunfels and beyond,” Wesson said. “Like the other recent service developments, this is another demonstration of the significant investment CHRISTUS is making in the community we are so privileged to serve. It’s important to remember though, while we look forward to our hospital’s makeover, our primary focus continues to be about the patient experience – one of mind, body and spirit. Our talented and compassionate physicians and Associates work daily to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, a mission founded more than 144 years ago by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio.”
