Any time there’s a dovish hint from the Fed, the market seems to expect rates to head back to ultra-low levels, but Dan Bandi, Chief Investment Officer at Integrity Asset Management, says don’t expect this “miracle out of nowhere.” Dan explains why Integrity believes we are currently closer to the level of normal long-term rates and the implications for future asset allocation in this month’s edition of The Catalyst. https://ow.ly/NeaM50REqW9

Today, Victory Capital issued our earnings report for the first quarter, and I am pleased to share that we achieved strong financial results to start 2024. Our Investment Franchises also continued to deliver excellent investment performance for our clients, and we continued to reinvest in our platform in key areas such as product development, technology, data and analytics, and hiring to support organic growth. Following quarter-end, we disclosed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding with Amundi to combine Amundi US into our Company and establish 15-year global and reciprocal distribution agreements. This proposed multi-dimensional transaction is both strategic and financially compelling and would represent a significant enhancement in the globalization of our Company. I am extremely proud of our team for the results we have delivered for our clients and shareholders and could not be more excited about our future and the journey ahead! I invite you to read more in our Q1 earnings release. https://lnkd.in/gMzTJ2bW

The continuing advance was fueled by encouraging economic data as well as the prospect of lower interest rates. Japan was the top performing region, as corporate reforms, the normalization of interest rates, and depreciation of the yen attracted investors. Markets were assuming that the Fed would cut aggressively, but hopes dimmed during the quarter in response to higher-than-expected inflation and strong labor data. The changing expectations resulted in fixed income volatility and mixed performance, thanks to a rising yield curve.
