Event Description: Join the Chamber Ambassadors as we celebrate Alamo Beer Company's Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Alamo Beer Company, was founded in 1997 by Eugene Simor, introduced ALAMO Golden Ale in October 2003. Since then it continues to grow in the local area and has quickly expanded to retailers in West Texas, South Texas, Houston & Austin. It is also available in a number of bars and restaurants within those markets. Additionally, the company is currently constructing an $8 million craft brewery next to the historic Hays Street Bridge just east of downtown San Antonio. The brewery is expected to produce up to 40,000 barrels, or 560,000 cases, of beer within its first 5 to 7 years of operation. Expected completion date is late 2014, with a public opening in 2015.

The Ribbon Cutting is a soft opening of the brewery. The Brewery will only be open for tours, and rentable for private events. Alamo Beer will not be fully open to the public until Spring of 2015.
