Congressman Doggett has a well-regarded and long-term commitment to public service. He has been widely recognized across the nation for his efforts in economic development, tax reform, health care, social service, and public and higher education, and he is a strong advocate for Bexar County constituents in all of these areas. In 2014, the Congressman authored a bill which President Obama signed into law expanding the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. He was given an “Excellence Award” by VIA Metropolitan Transit and was awarded “Best Elected Official” by the Austin Chronicle for several years in a row. Part 3 of the Chamber’s Congressional Series will include hearing from the 20-year term Congressman, Lloyd Doggett.
